Abstract
This short review discusses the clinical, pathophysiological and epide miological aspects of heavy snorer disease. Snoring and obstructive ap neas constitute the end points of the same syndrome, i.e. an enhanceme nt in upper airway resistance during sleep. Obstructive apneas, and po ssibly snoring, are risk factors of chronic arterial hypertension.
