Abstract
Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) nuclear track membrane (NTM) has been r ecently developed by chemical etching of ''solef'' (trade name) foils which are 50mm in diameter and 40 mum in thickness. The irradiation of ''solef'' were carried out by using various heavy ions with different specific energies at UNILAC (GSI Darmstadt, Germany).PVDF is a specia l plastics with many interesting physical,chemical and electrical prop erties which will be summarized in the paper.The elaboration, etching and technical parameters of PVDF NTM will be also briefly discussed.
