Abstract
Between November 1978 and July 1991, ten children between one and eigh t years of age with Group III pelvic rhabdomyosarcoma (IRS classificat ion) and considered inoperable at diagnosis were treated primarily wit h intensive poly-chemotherapy, Complementary radiotherapy and conserva tive surgery were added as needed. Eight of the ten survive free of di sease with functioning bladders for periods ranging from 5.7-18.4 year s. (C) 1997 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
