Wn. Moore et Lt. Taylor, GAINING GREATER SELECTIVITY IN THE SUPERCRITICAL-FLUID EXTRACTION OF DIGOXIN FROM DIGITALIS-LANATA LEAVES, Phytochemical analysis, 8(5), 1997, pp. 238-243
As higher levels of modifier are employed in supercritical fluid extra
ction, selectivity is diminished. This work discusses several strategi
es for improving selectivity in the extraction of digoxin from Digital
is lanata leaves. The three strategies for improving selectivity which
were studied include the use of alternative fluids, inclusion of a pr
e-extraction step, and selective rinsing of the solid phase trap. Adva
ntages were realized with each technique, and it was concluded that th
ey should be used in conjection with one another in order to maximize
selectivity. (C) 1997 by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
