Abstract
In this paper, a dynamic addressing scheme (DAVQ) is introduced for im age vector quantization. In the proposed system, the dynamic address o btained by two-stage searching will be transmitted instead of the abso lute address in conventional VQ systems. Simulation results demonstrat e that a significant savings in bit rate is acquired when compared wit h the standard VQ system.
