Abstract
The genus Bulbothricella Marcano et al. has now been shown to have bee n based on the misinterpretation of several morphological characters. The conidia and rhizines are now shown to be of the same type as obser ved in the genus Bulbothrix. The originally described anamorph belongs to a lichenicolous fungus. Hence the genus Bulbothricella is reduced to synonymy with Bulbothrix.
