Abstract
We study the magnitude of the Weiss magnetoresistance commensurability oscillations in surface superlattices, in samples with a long sequenc e of such features. The high index oscillations are suppressed faster than the conventional exponential term-apparently by a term of the for m exp{-(B-0/B)(3)}. We discuss the role of small-angle scattering in t he suppression of these oscillations and suggest a heuristic derivatio n of this envelope function.
