A modified version of the moment method is proposed for scattering com
putations. The approach is based on the assumption that the bodies und
er test partially differ from known standard models. The numerical com
putation is developed only for the body parts that exhibit physical an
d geometrical differences. This can be very useful in several cases, f
or example, when many partially different scatterers have to be analyz
ed or when a scatterer may assume different spatial positions whereas
a part of the scatterer stays unchanged, In this letter, the proposed
method is described and some considerations are made concerning the of
fered computational advantages.
