Abstract
The influence of solidification conditions on the microstructure and p hase composition of a hypereutectic Fe-4 %C-12 %Cr-13 %V alloy has bee n studied. The analysed alloy consists of the following structural com ponents after equilibrium solidification: primary MC-carbides, two typ es of eutectic mixtures and metallic matrix. A wide spectrum of metast able structures was found in rapidly solidified powder particles as re sult of cooling rate increase during solidification. Some important ch anges in phase composition were also identified in the material as res ult of different solidification conditions.
