Abstract
Knowledge of trace element concentrations in crude oil has been very u seful to the oil industry in the areas of classification and explorati on. This paper presents a preliminary study on the analysis of trace e lements in crude oil samples using mu-PIXE. The scanning proton microp robe at the University of Oxford was used in this study.
