Va. Marichev, ON THE POSSIBILITY OF STUDYING ADSORPTION OF HYDROXYL IONS AT METALS BY THE CONTACT ELECTRORESISTANCE METHOD, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 33(9), 1997, pp. 990-997
The scarcity of data on the adsorption of hydroxyl ions at metals is s
hown to be caused by the absence of experimental methods sensitive to
their adsorption. A technique for in situ measuring the contact electr
oresistance (CER) of metals in electrolytes is briefly described. The
results of measuring CER at gold, platinum, silver copper, and iron ar
e presented. The conclusion is drawn that the CER method may be used t
o study adsorption of hydroxyl ions at other metals and alloys.
