Abstract
The ''crawling'' of a liquid drop on a heterogeneous solid presents a
certain analogy with the phenomenon of phagocytosis. Nevertheless, a s
olid substrate is necessary in the description. We consider here the a
nalogous case in which a drop (or ''cell''), in suspension in a liquid
medium enters into contact with a small, spherical particle and then
absorbs it, the motive power being lack of capillary equilibrium
