Abstract
The magnetostriction induced deformation of the surface of a finite th ickness sample containing a 180-degrees magnetic domain wall is evalua ted. The wall may be of the Bloch, Neel, or mixed (Neel outside and Bl och inside) type. It is assumed that the magnetic structure is fixed i n order to calculate the displacement field. In particular, deformatio ns for a Bloch and a Neel wall are found to be of opposite signs.
