Abstract
A simple, sensitive, and reliable method is described for the determin ation of cadmium using differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV) after extraction as xanthate into chloroform. The minimum amo unt of cadmium that can be pre-concentrated and determined reliably by DPASV is 0.25 mu g/l. Extraction parameters and interference factors are studied. The applicability of the method for local soils and leafy samples is shown. The accuracy of the method has been demonstrated by the analyses of reference materials.
