Ag. Vlyssides et Cj. Israilides, CHARACTERIZATION OF WASTEWATERS FROM A POLYESTERIC AND OR CELLULOSIC FIBERS DYEING AND FINISHING PROCESS, Fresenius environmental bulletin, 6(11-12), 1997, pp. 705-710
The present paper deals with the characterization of wastewaters gener
ated from each separated stage during a cellulosic and or polyesteric
fibres dyeing and finishing process. From fifteen stages of a cellulos
ic fibers dyeing process 254 L of wastewater per kg of fibers are prod
uced while for polyesteric/cellulosic fibres dyeing process using eigh
teen stages 318 L of wastewater pr kg of fibers used are produced. The
total effluent contains low concentration of organics, high color uni
ts, temperature, pH, alkalinity and sodium chloride concentration.
