Ml. Lucanbouche et al., THE SIMULTANEOUS INFLUENCE OF PH AND TEMPERATURE ON BINDING AND MOBILIZATION OF METALS IN SAND .2. LEAD, Fresenius environmental bulletin, 6(11-12), 1997, pp. 719-726
Simultaneous influence of pH and temperature on binding and remobiliza
tion of Pb in sand was experimentally studied. Adsorption was slightly
fewer at pH 4 than at pH 9. Temperature (10, 20 and 30 degrees C) had
no influence on that adsorption. Very small quantities of Pb were rel
eased (2 to 4%) by lowering the pH from 9 to 4 indicating that Pb was
strongly adsorbed to sand even at pH 4 and 10 degrees C. The strong af
finity of Pb for sand was discussed in relation to physico-chemical ch
aracteristics of Pb adsorption and desorption and compared to that of
copper.
