Ag. Every et al., SURFACE RESPONSE OF A FLUID-LOADED ANISOTROPIC SOLID TO AN IMPULSIVE POINT FORCE - APPLICATION TO SCANNING ACOUSTIC MICROSCOPY, Physical review letters, 79(13), 1997, pp. 2478-2481
An algorithm is presented for calculating the dynamic Green's function
of two joined anisotropic elastic half-spaces. It is used to determin
e the surface response of a, fluid loaded anisotropic solid to an impu
lsive point force. Calculated images, representing the dependence of t
he normal displacement on time and direction, are in good agreement wi
th published images of a number of crystals obtained with a configurat
ion of two point focus acoustic lenses. The images show prominent feat
ures due to leaky Rayleigh and pseudosurface waves, as well as sharper
lateral wave structures associated with bulk wave arrivals.
