M. Nakayama et al., IDENTIFICATION OF CYANIDIN 3-O-(3'',6''-BETA-DIMALONYL-BETA-GLUCOPYRANOSIDE) AS A FLOWER PIGMENT OF CHRYSANTHEMUM (DENDRANTHEMA-GRANDIFLORUM), Bioscience, biotechnology, and biochemistry, 61(9), 1997, pp. 1607-1608
It had been suggested that cyanidin 3-O-(6 ''-O-monomalonyl-beta-gluco
pyranoside) and another unknown compound occur as major pigments in th
e purplish-red flower of chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflorum). We
determined the structure of the unknown compound as cyanidin 3-O-(3 '
',6 ''-O-dimalonyl-beta-glucopyranoside) by FAB-MS and H-1-NMR. This i
s the first report of the identification of the cyanidin 3-dimalonyl g
lucoside as a flower pigment.
