NEOLIGNANS FROM CARYODAPHNOPSIS-BAVIENSIS

Besides the eupomatenoids 1, 3, 5 and 6, propyl)-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3 -methylbenzo[b]furan, (4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-methylbenzo[b]fura n, yphenyl)-3-methyl-5-[(E)-1-propenyl]benzo[b]furan, erythro-1-(3,4-m ethylenedioxyphenyl)-2-{4-[(E)-1- propenyl]phenoxy}propan-1-ol, (+)-se samin, isolinderanolide and icariside D-1, two new neolignans have bee n isolated from Caryodaphnopsis baviensis. Their structures were eluci dated as dioxyphenyl)-5-[(E)-3-oxo-1-propenyl]benzo[b]furan and xy-alp ha-{4-[(E)-1-propenyl]phenoxy}propiophenone. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
