Abstract
A new spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determinati on of nickel(II) and palladium(II) using cyclohexylxanthate as reagent . Cyclohexylxanthate forms neutral complexes with Ni(II) and Pd(II). T he complexes formed were dissolved in neutral surfactant, Triton X-100 , and studied by direct spectro; photometry The molar absorptivities a re 0.50x10(4) l mol(-1) cm(-1) and 0.912x10(4) l mol(-1) cm for NI(II) and Pd(II) complexes respectively.
