Bm. Nicolai et J. Debaerdemaeker, FINITE-ELEMENT PERTURBATION ANALYSIS OF NONLINEAR HEAT-CONDUCTION PROBLEMS WITH RANDOM-FIELD PARAMETERS, INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF NUMERICAL METHODS FOR HEAT & FLUID FLOW, 7(5-6), 1997, pp. 525
Derives a first order perturbation algorithm for the computation of me
an values and (co-) variances of the transient temperature field in co
nduction heated materials with random field parameters. Considers both
linear as well as non-linear heat conduction problems. The algorithm
is advantageous in terms of computer time compared to the Monte Carlo
method. The computer time can further be reduced by appropriate transf
ormation of the random vectors resulting from the discretization of th
e random fields.
