Abstract
We investigate the influence of radiative processes due to He+(1s)-He( 1s2) collisions on the continuous optical spectrum of the helium-rich DB white-dwarf atmospheres. We show that these ion-atom collision proc esses are important in certain layers of the studied white dwarf atmos phere, and that the corresponding contributions to the optical depth a nd continuous opacity are not negligible.
