Abstract
The antihypertensive therapy with the cardioselective beta-receptor an tagonist talinolol is effective and safe in patients with mild to mode rate hypertension, An increase of the talinolol dosage was not associa ted with an increase of side effects or study interruptions, In more t han 90% of the patients a one daily dose of 100 mg talinolol was suffi cient. The profitable metabolic characteristics of talinolol especiall y concerning the lipid metabolism, are to be pointed out advantageous regarding the development of coronary heart disease.
