N. Favez et al., HISTORICAL TRUTH AND NARRATIVE TRUTH FOR CHILDREN - A RESEARCH STRATEGY, Schweizerische Zeitschrift für Psychologie, 53(2), 1994, pp. 98-103
This work describes a strategy for studying the role of affects in the
tranSformation of a lived-event into a narrated event by young childr
en. The child participates actively in an event (the scenario), the se
parate episodes of which evoke different affects. Immediately after th
is experience, and again two weeks later, die child is asked to tell h
is mother what happened. There are two experimental conditions: one ha
lf of the mother do not watch the scenario and do not know what happen
ed, the other half watched die scenario from behind a mirror. In this
condition the narration is a co-construction. We will present here the
scenario and our design and method of research.
