Abstract
Several fully functional programmable voltage standard chips, each hav ing a total of 32 768 Nb-PdAu-Nb Josephson junctions, have been fabric ated and tested. The chips are based on a new design that provides fas t programmability (1 mu s) between voltages and stable voltage operati on from -1 to +1 V. A comparison of the new standard with a convention al Josephson voltage standard is in agreement to 0.5 +/- 1.1 parts in 10(9). We demonstrate the utility of this standard by measuring the li nearity of a digital voltmeter. (C) 1997 American Institute of Physics .
