Abstract
There has been considerable debate with respect to the relationship be tween Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and psychotic phenomena. In the present study, a large sample of subjects suffering from OCD compl eted a self report instrument of features associated with Schizotypal Personality Disorder. A systematic and positive relationship was found between the presence of schizotypal features and OCD, independent of the effects of depression and anxiety. Moreover, consistent with previ ous experimental work, the presence of schizotypal features predicted the presence of obsessional phenomena attributable to reduced cognitiv e inhibition.
