Fw. Tong et Y. Akaiwa, FEEDBACK TYPE ECHO DISTORTION CANCELER IN AN FM BROADCASTING RECEIVER, IEICE transactions on communications, E80B(9), 1997, pp. 1345-1351
This work is targeted to understand the operating principle of the fee
dback type echo canceller for use in an FM broadcasting receiver and t
o study its compensating features and the effects of the practical ope
rating environment on its performance. The effects of the tap interval
and the compensation performance in the presence of an echo with exce
ss delay 0 - 15 mu s are examined. The results show that the tap inter
val should be selected according to the observable bandwidth of the ch
annel transfer function and the performance of a feedback type echo ca
nceller has a wavelike curve with respect to the excess delay of the e
cho. To improve the performance of the feedback type echo canceller, a
n adaptive echo canceller operating with CM algorithm is proposed and
examined with computer simulation. The results show that the compensat
ion performance is improved.
