Abstract
We test the J-shifting approximation for H + CO recombination by compa ring the recombination rate in the fall-off region against one obtaine d using accurate J- and K-dependent resonance energies. In applying th e J-shifting approximation we consider rotation constants given at the HCO minimum and also at the H-CO saddle point. (C) 1997 Elsevier Scie nce B.V.
