Abstract
Among 3,129 dobutamine stress echocardiographic studies, a hypertensiv e response, defined as systolic blood pressure (BP) greater than or eq ual to 220 mm Hg and/or diastolic BP greater than or equal to 110 mm H g, occurred in 30 patients (1%). Patients with this response more ofte n had a history of hypertension and had higher resting systolic and di astolic BP before dobutamine infusion.
