Some organo-bis(amino)stibanes were obtained from the reaction between
mesityldichloro stibane and the corresponding lithium-amides. The uns
tability of some of these compounds can be explained within Pearson's
theory. These compounds are good precursors for the synthesis of mesit
yldialkoxystibanes and mesityl-1,3-dioxa-4,6-di-t-butylbenzo-2-stibola
ne. The reaction of mesityl bis(diethylamino)stibane with paranitroani
line led to a new stiba-imine which has been characterized. This last
compound appears very hygroscopic and gives the corresponding mesitylh
ydroxyparanitroanilino-stibane also characterized in the reaction. All
obtained compounds were analyzed by H-1 and C-13 NMR, IR and mass spe
ctrometry.
