Abstract
There is a growing interest in applying the concepts of total quality management (TQM) to the fields of health care and medical education. T his paper explores the potential relationship of teaching and TQM, and the subsequent benefits for individual medical teachers. Issues such as defining teaching processes and quality teaching, addressing custom ers' needs, assessing current teaching practices and improving one's t eaching are described.
