N. Satyanarayana et al., INVESTIGATION OF SOL-GEL ROUTE IN THE SYNTHESIS OF LITHIUM ION CONDUCTING GLASSES, Solid state ionics, 86-8, 1996, pp. 543-546
Lithium ionic conducting {(0.6)Li2O-(0.4)[xB(2)O(3) + (1 - x)SiO2] x =
0.0 to 0.7 in steps of 0.1} glasses are synthesised through the sor-g
el route. The monolithic form of gels are obtained with rich silica co
ntent. The prepared compounds are characterised by XRD, IR and particl
e size data. Electrical conductivity measurements are made at ambient
as well as at higher temperatures. The activation energy (E(2)) for th
e migration of lithium ion in the sample is obtained from the slopes o
f log (sigma T) vs. 1000/T plot. The observed variation in the conduct
ivity with the formers composition is explained qualitatively by using
the existing model.
