Abstract
Radioscopic X-ray inspection systems can be used for the measurement o f absorption profiles across specimens. These data are input for the r econstruction of tomographic images. The manipulator of the system is used for the measurement if it has the required mechanical precision. The radiation is detected by an image converter tube. For radioscopic inspection, the image is picked-rip by a high-resolution CCD camera wi th 1024 x 1024 pixels. The video signal is processed by a very fast hi gh-precision image computer in real rime. The central section of the c onverter output screen is depicted on to a linear diode array with 102 4 elements. The output of this detector is used for the reconstruction of cross-sectional images. The reconstruction can be accelerated by m eans of transputers to less than one minute. Extended range objects bi gger, than the normal detector field call be inspected by multiple mea surements of data subsets.
