Ce. Holloway et M. Melnik, LEAD OXYACIDS AND HALIDE COMPOUNDS - CLASSIFICATION AND ANALYSIS OF CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC AND STRUCTURAL DATA, Silicon, germanium, tin and lead compounds, 20(9), 1997, pp. 583-625
This review is the last of three reviews covering the structures of le
ad compounds, and covers over two hundred lead oxoacids and halides, o
nly fourteen of which have the lead atom in its +4 oxidation state. On
ly octahedral coordination is found for Pb(IV), but the coordination a
round Pb(II) varies from trigonal to dodecahedral. Bond distances and
interbond angles are correlated with covalent radii of the ligand atom
s, and the effect of the non-bonded pair of valence electrons on Pb(II
) is discussed. There are examples of distortion and structural isomer
ism in these derivatives.
