A new configuration of the random potential and the optimal fluctuatio
n method are used for the evaluation of the long-time delay in Ohmic r
esponse of a finite piece of a disordered one-dimensional chain. The r
esult agrees, to exponential accuracy, with that obtained earlier by A
ltshuler and Prigodin.
