Abstract
Volatile erbium beta-diketonates and dithiocarbamates Er(HFA)(3).2HMPA (I), Er(HFA)(3).DME (II), Er(PTFA)(3).HMPA (III), Er(HFA)(3).DMSO.H2O (IV), Er(DDTC)(3) (V), and Er(DIBDTC)(3) (VI) (HFA, PTFA, DDTC, and D IBDTC are the hexafluoroacetylacetonate, pivaloyltrifluoroacetonate, d iethyldithiocarbamate, and diisobutyldithiocarbamate anions, respectiv ely; HMPA is hexamethylphosphoramide, DME is 1,2-dimethoxyethane, and DMSO is dimethyl sulfoxide) were studied by mass spectrometry. On the basis of fragmentation patterns, probable mechanisms of thermal decomp osition of rare-earth beta-diketonate adducts are proposed.
