Np. Molochnikova et al., CONCENTRATION AND RECOVERY OF RADIONUCLIDES FROM WATER BY SORPTION ONPOLIORGS COMPLEXING SORBENTS, Radiochemistry, 39(3), 1997, pp. 279-282
Sorption of Am-241, Pu-239, U-233, Cs-135 and Sr-90 with POLIORGS comp
lexing sorbents from neutral aqueous media was studied. The highest ef
ficiency is exhibited by sorbents with hydrazide groups POLIORGS XXIV
and POLIORGS 32 in the form of threads or nonwoven fiber. All the radi
onuclides under study (except for cesium) were recovered from ground w
ater almost completely. The desorption of radionuclides with nitric ac
id and the possibility of reuse of the sorbents were studied with an e
xample of americium. The sorbents with hydrazide groups can be used fo
r concentrating radionuclides when determining them in water and for r
emoving radioactive and toxic metals from aqueous media.
