Abstract
The paper analyses the different components and levels of perception o f biodiversity in grassland ecosystems; it then points out the causes of impoverishment (by intensification or land abandonment) of these gr assland ecosystems. Their possibilities and limits of conservation and restoration (passive and active) are precised.
