Abstract
The glassforming ability of the systems (GeS2)(80-x) (Ga2S3)(20). xPrC l(3) and (GeS2)(80-x)(Ga2S3)(20). xPr(6)O(11) was determined, the homo geneous glasses were prepared, the thermal properties, optical transmi ssivity and luminescence of pure and Pr doped glasses were determined. The absorption and luminescence bads were assigned to f-electron tran sitions of Pr ions.
