Binuclear copper(II) complexes with phenazone (phz) having a general f
ormula [Cu-2(ROCH2COO)(4)(phz)(2)] (R = o-, m- and p-methylphenyl) wer
e assayed in carrageenan rat paw edema. Their activities (mean edema r
eduction 73-87%) were higher than those of the aquacomplexes (43-71%)
and copper(II) salicylate tetrahydrate (58%). The highest effect among
phenazone complexes exhibited o-cresoxy-acetate derivative.
