Abstract
This work is directed towards the preparation and study of magnetic pr operties of chelateous compounds of the xylenol orange (XYO) with iron ions. It was observed that high temperature organic magnetics are for med by XYO with Fe(III) ions in contrast to 3-semicarbazone-2,3-dioxoi ndole where they are formed with Fe(II) ions.
