Photocatalytic degradation of oxalic and citric acids by ultraviolet r
adiation in the presence of five different samples of titanium dioxide
semiconductor photocatalyst was studied. Sorption of strontium on the
same set of materials was studied as a function of pH. It was conclud
ed that for a process comprising in one step photodegradation of organ
ic complexants and sorption of released ions on the photocatalyst/sorb
ent, the selection of the most efficient material will be strongly pH-
dependent.
