It was found that vanadium-phosphorus catalyst modified with Zn increa
ses about 2,5 times the initial specific rate of butane oxidation and
maleic anhydride formation, respectively, at the partial oxidation of
n-butane to maleic anhydride. On the other hand the V-P-Ce-O does not
change the values of mentioned rates in comparison with the unmodified
catalyst. The values of apparent activation energy are about 10 kJ.mo
l(-1) lower for the V-P-Zn-O catalyst in comparison with the the V-P-O
catalyst. It can be concluded that modifiers do not change the reacti
on mechanism.
