Crystal structure, resistivity, specific heat and magnetic susceptibil
ity of CeSi0.6Ga1.4 have been studied. The compound crystallizes in Al
B2 type structure. The magnetic ordering temperature is reduced furthe
r from CeSi0.5Ga1.5 and its type is changed from antiferromagnetic to
ferromagnetic with further addition of Si in place of Ga in the solid
