Gp. Singh, PETROCHEMICAL BASIS FOR THE RANK (MATURITY) EVALUATION OF PERMIAN COALS OF THE RAMAGUNDAM COAL BELT, GODAVARI VALLEY COALFIELD, ANDHRA-PRADESH, Journal of the Geological Society of India, 50(4), 1997, pp. 389-397
The Permian coals of Ramagundam coalfield are sub-bituminous to high v
olatile bituminous in rank on the basis of chemical (carbon, and volat
ile matter) and petrographic as kerogen type-III. Reflectance (Rom) va
lues suggest the maturation temperatures ranging from 46 degrees and 1
08 degrees C and depth of burial of coal bearing horizons varies from
1725 to 2175 metres.
