Abstract
This paper demonstrates the application of artificial neural networks (ANN) combined with factor analysis for spectroscopic calibration. The number of input signal nodes of each sample was compressed effectivel y by factor analysis. Some real UV spectral data of tyrosine (Tyr), tr yptophane (Trp), phenylalanine (Phe), and 3,4-dihydroxyl phenylalanine (Di-phe) were used to test the technique, showing the determination o f the components in the mixtures.
