Acute experiments on 82 adult rabbits aimed at elucidation of effects
of opiate antagonists and blood reinfusions in hemorrhagic shock (HS)
demonstrate that injection of 0.5 mg/kg and 2.0 mg/kg of nalorphine or
0.1 mg/kg of naloxone affects negatively HS duration and outcome. Blo
od reinfusion in the latest period of shock increases survival of the
animals. Injection of nalorphine under hemodynamic action of blood rei
nfusion increases the survival, the benefit being more pronounced for
the dose 2.0 mg/kg. The injection of naloxone after the reinfusion had
no effect on the outcomes.
