I. Aspholm, BUSINESS-MANAGEMENT IN ESTONIA - A STUDY OF FINNISH-OWNED COMPANIES EXPERIENCES OF ESTONIAN BUSINESS LEGISLATION, Ekonomiska samfundets tidskrift, 50(2), 1997, pp. 85
This article reports a study of Finnish-owned companies' experiences o
f Estonian business legislation. Results showed that Finnish-owned com
panies experienced the Estonian business legislation as confusing. The
y criticized the variability, the defectiveness and the ineffectivenes
s of the Estonian legal system. However, the views of the Finnish-owne
d companies showed some inconsistencies, because they did not seem to
have thoroughly studied the Estonian legal system. On the other hand,
the criticism produced some important observations on the inadequacies
of Estonian business legislation. One implication of the study is tha
t the judgement of the adequacy of the Estonian business legislation s
hould take into account the circumstances of the specific lines of bus
iness concerned.
