Abstract
We present evidence on the relationship between output volatility and growth using state data. No evidence of such a relationship is found o nce other correlates of growth ale incorporated into the analysis. Thi s finding contradicts published results using international data; some possible explanations for the contradictory results are discussed. (C ) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
