Abstract
The structure of the title compound, (C7H4ClN2S2)[AsF6], has four crys tallographically independent cations, in each of which, attractive S . .. Cl interactions enhance the intrinsic electronic tendency of the tw o rings to coplanarity. The C-C-C-S torsion angles about the bond join ing the rings are 1.4(11), 9.0(11), 9.5(11) and 5.0(12)degrees, and in each cation the S ... Cl distance is close to 2.9 Angstrom.
